Our Council has resolved to reduce 2014-15 annual waste charges by an amount equivalent to the carbon price that had been factored into the original charge calculation ($22 per 140 litre waste service).
I have spoken with Helen Pearce at OLG who indicated they were formulating advice for Councils and without pre-empting that advice or putting Helen on the spot it is likely that OLG will suggest council’s should pass on the savings this year.
