      Hi All,
for those of you that are not aware Wollongong will be placing a literal on the instalment notice, which should hopefully make the ratepayers aware of the enclosed classification letter. The literal will read as per below:

From 1 July 2017 the NSW Government will introduce the Fire and Emergency Services Levy. Contact Council on 4227 7111 for land classification enquires or NSW Government on 1300 78 78 72 for levy enquiries.

At this stage we will be doing Council specific communication on the FESL in the rate notice in July.

I agree, if you have the space why not draw peoples attention to the communication.

We included a similar text message that read:

        “Fire and Emergency Services Levy
From 1 July 2017 the NSW Government will abolish the Emergency Services Levy (ESL) paid on insurance
policies and replace it with Fire and Emergency Services Levy (FESL) paid alongside council rates.
The first stage in this process is to classify all land and important information regarding your property is enclosed.
For further information and frequently asked questions please visit Council’s website http://www.campbelltown.nsw.gov.au”

We didn’t put a literal on it – people don;t seems to be reading the letter so ain’t gonna read no literal on the notice.
We have our calls going to a call centre – taken about 15 calls to date so I think it was a bloody good investment.
          How is everyone else doing?
