      Hi there,
Coming from a metro Council I have had zero exposure to water & sewer before starting here at Wingecarribee so this could be a stupid question.
With our water & sewer access charges, our policy states that these charges will be charged on a per habitable dwelling basis under s501.
If a property has a dual occupancy built, we are currently adding an access charge for both water & sewer even though there is only the one connection and only the one meter.
Like wise with a strata we charge access charges by the number of units.
Is this methodology allowed by the Act?
I am not sure if there is a straight forward answer to this question.

David, your life will never be the same having previously been protected from the world of water and sewer (and the engineers involved!).

Anyway – yes, perfectly allowable in my opinion and is the way many water authorties (local council or otherwise) operate.

Hi David, Tweed have a crazy way of charging for business and residential dual occupancies. We use consumption and meter size. Feel free to contact us if you would like more info. Regards lee
