      hi guys
I don’t think we’ve discussed this one here, apologies if I’ve missed something.

I can see on no. 12, page 43 of November 2016 manual that retirement villages run by religious or PBI institutions may be classified as Public Benefit but it seems that Aged Care facilities run by the same organisations are not? I can’t find any reference in the manual of draft legislation to the purpose of Aged Care.

So Aged Care facilities are Commercial regardless of who is operating them?

      Thanks heaps
      Cherie

Hi Cherie – I have taken the approach that Aged Care facilities equate to a Nursing Home (fully serviced long term care – meals, bedding , medical etc) and are Commercial regardless of who is operating them.
I did post a question on the ESPL portal about the distinction between Retirement Villages, Aged Care Facilities/Nursing Homes for ESPL classification purposes but have yet to hear a response.

Would be interested in how others are treating them.
        Cheers
        Mick
