      Hi

Does your Council permit Real Estate Agents to cancel a direct debit on behalf of the owner?

      Thanks
      Dajana

        Hi Dajana
Fairfield Council does not permit a Real Estate Agents to Cancel a Direct debit on behalf of the owner, Council will only action it upon owner’s request in writing.

        Regards
        Suzy

          Morning Dajana,

Randwick would have normally cancelled the direct debit as soon as the change of address is made by the Real estate agent.

In saying that though we are currently reviewing this whole process and moving forward the real estate agent will be required to provide evidence that they are responsible to pay the rates on the owners behalf.

Council will then write to the owner and advise that the direct debit has been removed from the account, due to the change of address by the real estate agent.

            Hi Dajana,

Blacktown is the same as Fairfield, we only accept the cancellation in writing from the owner/s.

            Thanks
            Brad

              Hi Dajana

Canterbury-Bankstown cancels it on the receipt of the change of address to the managing agent. If the notices are going to the agent, then we take the view that they are responsible for paying the rates. We haven’t had any issues with it.
