Quick question on changes of name and how your Council handles them.
Do you update your Council Property and Rating records if a Marriage Certificate or Change of Company Name is received?
Or does your Council only accept the change of name if it comes through as an amendment from Land Registry Service?
Reason for asking is that I have become aware that the Valuer-General will only update ownership details if an amendment is registered and comes through from Land Registry Services.
Wondering whether we should adopt a similar approach. Interested in hearing everyone’s thoughts on this particular process.
