Some small parcels of land failed to sell at Council’s ‘Sale of Land for Unpaid Rates’ Auction. The parcels are small areas, such as ‘left-over’ land from road re-alignments etc. They are of no value to anyone excepting the adjoining owners. Since s.716 (2) allows for the land to now be sold by private treaty, it has been suggested that Council write to the adjoining landholders to endeavour to sell the lots to those persons. Has any other Council undertaken this exercise & if so, do you have a standard letter that I could look at? Thank you.
