Hi all,
I’m looking for some statistics on the uptake of email delivery of notices.
The info. we’re interested in is:-
How long have you had the option to email notices?
Is the process managed in house, or through a printer/external supplier?
What percentage of your notices are delivered via email?Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
IanSeptember 3, 2019 at 12:50 pm #19716Hi Ian,
Shoalhaven City Council has offered electronic delivery via e-mail and BPAY View since 2014, initially through Forms Express and through PML for the past couple of years.
Take up has been reasonably steady with 8.4% of our ratepayer base receiving rate notices by e-mail and 4.0% electing BPAY View as their electronic preference (0.6% use multiple channels).
We continue to promote electronic delivery on hard copy notices through the year.
Let me know if you need anything further.
Cheers
Michael
September 3, 2019 at 1:26 pm #19715Hi Ian,
We are similar to Michael at Shoalhaven.
We have it run through PML. Positives are the registrations are verified every time we do a notice run so you are confident its going to the right person. Negatives are if we move print house everyone would need to register again. We have had email for about 2 years and are at 7% uptake
we have had Bpay view nearly twice as long and are at 4% uptake
We also have sms capabilities and 5.1% uptake for that.We have included flyers about the service with our notice and we have a banner at the bottom of our emails with a hyperlink to the website to register for emailing of notices.
Given the current costs and length of time its taking to deliver mail, its also a benefit for the ratepayer they receive on day of notice release.
Let me know if you need anything else.

DallasSeptember 3, 2019 at 1:50 pm #19714Hi Ian,
Wollondilly has offered email & BPay View for 3 years. We have 3.7% of assessments registered for email & 2.7% registered for BPay View. This has been increasing steadily each year & we advertise both options on our rate notices & have included a BPay View flyer with the notices several times.
BPay View is managed by PML & we managed email registrations in house.
Thanks
SimoneSeptember 3, 2019 at 4:09 pm #19713Hi Ian,
Blacktown have been emailing notices since 2014 and we currently have 19% registered to receive notices via email. We don’t offer BPAY view.
Forms Express are our current print company and they manage the registrations.
Anything else please let me know.
Thanks

IanSeptember 6, 2019 at 7:38 am #19710Hi Ian
We have had ‘broadcast’ email (notice sent as an attachment) since 2001.
We struggle to get participation although we do regularly send flyers or print on notices material to encourage email.
Currently we have 6.3% email and 4% BPAYView.
Previously we managed the registrations, this year we have a new contract with Forms Express who manage the registrations.
I hope this is helpful.Regards,
AndrewDecember 3, 2020 at 4:15 pm #20609Hi,
Just preparing a report for Council on the number of rates notices we issue by email, just wondering if you would be willing to share the updated % of notices that you send by email?

At Blacktown we are currently up to 26.1% of email notice customers (Approx 33,000 in raw numbers).
