Compensation changes have been brought about by the Workers Compensation Legislation Amendment (Firefighters) Bill 2018 that will result in an approximate 15% increase to the current ESL adding $160million to the total cost.
Collectively local councils are required to fund 11.7% of the states emergency services costs, this increase will add an estimated $14million to those collective costs.
