The ESPL Implementation Council Activity Timeline includes “Activity 8 – VG advises updated land valuations as at 1 July 2016 to all councils”.

I didn’t realise that was happening.

Was news to me yesterday aswell MO and if we don’t receive the new vals until March it’s going to make getting them in, balanced and analysed before setting next years rates pretty rushed.

I read this in disbelief also, but I guess it makes sense for the whole state to be on the same base date … I agree Simone, we really need the GVal file by mid January. Late Feb or anytime in March is far too late.

So….maybe a stupid question….is every Council having the same base date of 1/7/16???

We are currently one of the councils on a 4 year cycle, we were suppose to have a BD of 1/7/17, but we are anticipating a change to 1/7/16.

Hi Everyone

I have spoken to the VG and they will be issuing letters to Councils shortly regarding the GVal.

They advised that Councils will be able to indicate there preference for when they wish to receive their GVal.

All Councils will have a 01/07/2016 Base Date

They also encouraged Councils to take up the electronic issue of Valuation notices for Council properties.

I spoke with Tracy Walsh yesterday who mentioned the letter to be sent to Councils but couldn’t advise of when the vals will be issued. It wasn’t mentioned about us indicating a preference but of course they have them already for everyone so I can’t see why they would delay. Those Councils already expecting a GVal are being issued now as normal.

I just saw a request by email yesterday about the Val Notices for Council owned properties being sent electronically. It sounds definitely worth doing.
