Hi All
I have been approached by the waste manager to remove or exempt domestic waste charges from a property. The reasoning is that it is a block of flats to which the bins are being stolen every few months. The tenants are not cooperating in bringing bins back into property from the kerb and the real estate is not assisting with this request from the owner.
This is ongoing costly process for both Council and the Owner of the property.
I realise under 496 we must levy a charge for domestic waste – however is there a way this can be exempted, either by the GM or by resolution of Council?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
