We have received a request from the Families of Veterans Guild regarding rate concessions for war widows.
They are asking council to consider supporting an amendment to Section 134 of the Local Government (General) Regulation 2021, which currently requires war widows/widowers to meet the Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) income and assets test in order to receive pensioner rate concessions. They are seeking support from council to advocate for the removal of the income/assets clause so eligibility is not tied to PCC status.
They have asked whether council would consider passing a resolution to endorse this reform and have offered to provide LGA-specific data.
