Hi All,
As I am new to the Farmland process I am looking for some guidance.
Here at Wollongong it looks like it has been a long time since we have done farmland inspections so I am wanting to put together a list of guidelines that need to be followed.
We have completed desk audits using our mapping system, DA’s and Google. We are now at the stage we will need to inspections.
Does anyone have a letter or package that you send out to the ratepayer for information prior to inspecting the property?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Tracey
Neil Charge from over at Camden did a presentation on farmland rating at one of the conferences. If you contact Neil I am sure he would be able to able to help you with the details.
I also noticed back under the old Revenue forum posts there were some councils using independent consultants for the determination of their farmland applications.
If you have a look at those forum posts they may also be of assistance.

Hi Tracey

We are working on this with a few other councils and have accumulated quite a lot of information which we are putting into a new policy, procedure and application form. I am happy to pass on when we have it all together. We will looking at using a consultant but not in the first instance only if the ratepayer requests a review of our decision. We are hoping to do a full audit of all our farmland properties before the end of the year.
