      Hi All,
We are currently considering requesting date of births of our ratepayers.

Is there any Council who is currently requesting this information and if so how did you go about collecting the information? Has there been any issues with requesting the data?

        Hi Tracey,

Newcastle collects date of birth information only over the phone at the time of verbal inquiry. The NAR is updated at this point.

          Hi Tracey

We have been sending the attached letter to new owners upon receipt of a NOS transfer, if the DOB is provided we record it in our NAR.

It has been extremely successful and received a lot of positive feedback.

Primarily our thought process is to help future proof online offerings and help us to confirm the right person. We have had some instances where father and son live at same address, son then buys a property (or signs for gym membership etc.) and we have assumed it was dad, this can be problematic.

          Hope this is helpful.

          Regards
          Andrew

            Hi Tracey
Fairfield collects date of birth information over the phone at the time of verbal inquiry without any pressure to the ratepayer, the flow of the phone conversation is confirming assessment numbers, property address and date of birth, before responding to their request. I have also included in the Change of Name and Address Detail request application. This information has assisted cleaning, and reducing Duplications in the NAR Module, a very successful process no complaints.
