A question for the recently merged councils.
OLG wants an aggregated result in regards to catch-up or excess for the new council. They provided a blank Permissible Income Workpaper for the aggregation exercise.
I can’t complete the workpapers as they allow only for either the general variation or a special variation – we had both (Pittwater & Manly = general; Warringah = special). Anyone else having issues?
Additionally I queried with OLG for the reason why they want a combined result given we have to maintain for several years separate rating structures. This would mean that a former council excess could be offset by another’s catch-up, giving a misleading result.
OLG took the question on notice, however I haven’t had a response.
