Good afternoon fellow Revenue Professionals,
We recently received an offer from the Valuer General to provide Council with a new valuation list with a base date of 1 July 2020. In part this letter states “The 1 July 2019 land values recently issued to councils were determined before the recent bushfires occurred. This means that the values do not reflect any impact of the fires.”
We will not know our actual land valuation reductions, if any, until we receive the updated valuation list which we are then obligated to use whether we want to or not. If there have not been significant reductions across our LGA we would have preferred not to have to use the updated valuation list.
It would be appreciated if you were able to advise me if you are going to or are thinking of taking up this offer.
