Does every Council display the rate map? The above section of the Act states that Council “must” display a map showing the categories & sub-categories? At this stage we are unable to produce maps due to a change in software that isn’t compatible with our mapping program. Short of sticking old maps together, photocopying them & colouring them in by hand I’m not sure what else we can do. Any suggestions?
We do produce a map & have it available for viewing. I’m only aware of one person who looks at it (he asks for it each year). We have MapInfo, & I produce it from a spread sheet list of the properties & categories. Would that be an option for you ?
We print copies of the maps and place one in customer service and one satellite library. We have also been able to PDF our maps and have a link on our website
Penrith City Council includes a map showing the boundary of our business sub-categories in our Operational Plan, with a note on the plan that says any properties categorised as business within the boundary is to be sub-categorized accordingly. Other than that we don’t provide other maps, and I must admit that I never new about this part of the legislation before you raised it.
