Wondering how you treat retirement villages/over 55 resorts waste management charges. Any of ours categorised as Residential would pay 1 DWM charge per dwelling.
Our revenue policy states:
Properties containing more than one habitable dwelling will be subject to an additional DWMC for each habitable dwelling includes units, retirement villages & other multiple occupancy dwellings where bulk bin containers may be supplied. We also have a Section 501 charge which is raised the same way.
We have some non rateable villages & also a large village with over 300 dwellings categorised as business as technically it was approved as relocatable homes, these currently pay no charges as they pay the contractor directly.
Management feels they are not contributing to the provision of waste management services & it is not consistent with all the other over 50’s villages so they would like us to charge a S501 charge for every dwelling.
Would be interested to know your thoughts or does anyone have a policy?
