Section 603 Certificates

      Hello Revenue Pros,

      Does any Council out there include a BPAY logo on their 603 certificates?

      We are making some changes to better accommodate ELNO (at the moment it is only PEXA) payments – a specific BPAY biller code for these payments to act as a unique identifier in the payment file, and have been told through our bank that we will need to incorporate the BPAY logo on the certificate before an approval is granted. This is despite our protestations that the certificate is not an invoice and that ELNO transactions are pretty much mandated now.

        We resisted this for the reasons you have identified, a 603 certificate is not a billing system, however the team became tired of arguing the point with conveyancers and so we relented.
        Yes we have an ELNO BPAY biller code which shows on the reverse side of our 603 certificate. Having a separate biller code has been very helpful in identifying settlement payments as opposed to ratepayer BPAY payments.
        As you have also identified BPAY will not approve the use of their framework without the BPAY logo, we have this on our certificates, albeit somewhat despondent about doing so.

          Hi Michael – we relented early on (after constant contact from conveyancers wanting BPAY reference numbers) and have the BPAY logo on each 603 certificate. This identifies a separate biller code for ELNO transactions which has been extremely helpful in identifying settlement related payments.

            We started ELNO BPAY this April and had to jump through the same hoops as yourself regarding logo etc. We have also made the move for the exact same reasons identified by Andrew and Mick.

              Hello Everyone

              Introduced this at Blue Mountains and also have it down here at Lithgow.

              Was a pain to get it organised up at Blue Mountains but once incorporated it worked well and stopped the phone calls from Conveyancers and solicitors.

              Seems to be the norm now that the settlements are happening with PEXA.
