Our merged Council has just released a draft organisational structure. In order to provide quantative feed back, I wold be interested to know the ratio of properties to rating staff; and the ratio of the number of water bills to water staff. Thanking you in advance.

                    Great Lakes

Hi Sue The merged Midcoast Council which is made up of the former Great Lakes, Greater Taree & Gloucester has around 55,000 assessments we will have 9 staff. This includes 1 debtors officer & 1 property officer (who does all the subdivisions, registers etc). We don’t currently have water but apparently MidCoast Water will be coming back to Council just waiting on the State Government not sure what’s going to happen then about staffing.
                    Regards

Just returned from leave – hence my late reply.
Canterbury-Bankstown have 10 staff for 120000 assessments. (The BIGGEST in the state until Blacktown open up some more land)
We are still operating two databases under the Rate freeze.
