Canvassing as to which councils are charging a fee or surcharge in relation to credit card payments (either with Rates or any other council payment streams)? Some councils that were charging stopped a few years back. If your Council is still charging, could you let me know. Many thanks.

Lane Cove re-introduced a 0.8% surcharge for 24/25, on debit and credit cards.

We charge the average cost as a percentage that our bank determines, Visa Mastercard 0.6% Amex 0.8% on all payment gateways where the option to pay by cash, EFTPOS, cheque or money order is available. If the only choice is CC or Amex there is no MSF.

Blacktown is charging a 0.5% surcharge to all payments made via credit card.

We are charging 0.60% at Wollongong.
It changed last year from 0.50% to 0.60% after we did some analysis on the average transaction fees.

I know I’m a bit late to the party on this one but CBCity charges 0.62% for Visa, Mastercard and AMEX.
