The Specs re Table 4 state the Rateable Value is required i.e. “Land value currently levied” to be supplied within the file with the classification information. This data is required to be with the VG by 15 Feb 2017. The VG is issuing updated land valuations as at B/D 01/07/2016 from January 2017 to March 2017. Are the Land Values to be supplied within Table 4 base date 01/07/2016 land values (which may not yet be issued to a Council or loaded into their Rates Systems) by the time the file is required to be with the VG or are the land values the current series used for rating in 2016/17. If the latter what is the purpose of supplying current series land value data.

I will lodge this question on the ESPL portal also. Just thought someone might have an idea on it.

        Hi Mick

Just read your post and can advise that for the purposes of the initial classification due in February 2017 the new valuations (yet to be supplied) are not essential. I can confirm that councils are expected to provide the valuation last used in the calculation of land rates and the VG will use the PID data to correlate classifications with new values.

In future years everyone will be on the same base date and so this will no longer be a cause for concern.

I hope this is useful and makes sense.

        Regards,
        Andrew
