      Hi

I wasn’t sure where to put this question so this looks like a good spot.

Does anyone not use Titles or is thinking about not using them.
I would think that it would be more of an issue for the inner city Council’s rather than the rest of us.
If you could let me know it would be appreciated.

      Cheers

        Shoalhaven

        Good morning Neil,

I am not sure of the history as to why but here at Shoalhaven we do not use titles. We thought about starting to use them when we implemented TechOne but in the end decided to leave it as is.

        Regards
        Pete

          Canterbury-Bankstown

          Hi Chargie
Former Canterbury did use titles on Rates Notices but former Bankstown didn’t. Now as CBCity we have gone with former Bankstown and don’t use titles on the Rates Notices. We don’t store them in NAR either, unless we are made aware of their titles. We have too many diverse cultural names to be 100% sure we are getting the title correct.

            Hi Neil,

Blacktown are the same as CBCity. If we have them we will store them against the NAR record but they aren’t shown on our notices.

            Thanks
            Brad

We don’t use titles here at SMRC. We have a lot of people from international backgrounds, so often we can’t tell gender by their name. So Council procedure is to use the first name, middle initial (if any) & then the surname.

                Hi Neil,

We use titles when we’re provided them and when we know them to be correct, otherwise the field is left blank. Notices will print the title (if the field is not null) plus first and second name initials followed by the surname.

                  Hi Neil
We use titles and guess the gender as best as possible. We have a fairly broad multicultural staff resource here and a register of volunteers from various nationalities that assist with customer service enquiries.
Also we use the names to generate the salutation on our correspondence.
Hope this information (albeit a bit late) is of assistance.

                  Regards,
                  Andrew
