      Hello

I have a parcel of vacant land that is part of an Aboriginal community and owned by Aboriginal Land Council. Houses on either side and they are charged usage and access charges.

Do you charge the vacant land or apply exemption?

I have looked at the Local Government Act, Water Management Act and Aboriginal Act and can’t find a clear direction.

        Hi Penny
The vacant land is exempt under Sec 555 so I would not levy access charges. However if there is water connected I levy the access charge and consumption until such time as the meter and service is removed.
