Just wondering what other councils do with regards to water usage charges if the billing period crosses the financial year (ie there is a differential in the user charge from financial year to financial year) how does the council issue the bill to account for both sets of usage charges (ie charges at the old rate and the new rate)?

Hi Linda, we apportion the usage into each period based on the daily average usage between readings and apply the tariff from each period accordingly. We operate under Water Managmeent Act 2000 but I believe the same principles would apply under the LGA.
