Council currently has outstanding rates and charges on a Occupation Permit that was terminated by Forestry NSW.

Who is liable for the outstanding rates and charges? Is the previous holder of the Occupation permit still liable, as rates and charges are a debt on the land ?

Council is also expecting a termination of a Crown Reserve Lease, that currently has a large outstanding balance. Who now is liable for the debt?

Are the outstanding rates and charges written off? and if so is this claimable?

        Hi Kim

The lessee remains responsible for the debt. It is a personal debt rather than a debt against the land.

This would be in both cases.
