We have received a similar request from them.
We exempt General rates but they are now asking for Water & Sewer as well.Yes I did also. I called and was told they had my file but it was on a list that had errors and they would work their way through them. They would fix it or email it back if I needed to fix.
Haven’t got anything back yet.

October 17, 2017 at 11:35 am in reply to: Office of Local Govt – Recovery of Outstanding Water Charges #20475I have a rate payer request disconnection of water at their property which has “squatters” in it. The property was recently sold and there are no overdue accounts.
Can we disconnect or restrict the water supply at the request of the owner if there are people living at the property.
Can you please forward any info you get on this please. Had a debt collection issue regarding this.

However the use of the land as the sale of alcohol or gaming is not a permitted use on the ESPL Public Benefit schedule in the legislation. As such the parcel of land that the bar is located on will be classified as commercial and the parcel of land that the club’s sporting fields, community centres and buildings are located on will be classified as public benefit. If the bar and sports fields etc are located on the same parcel of land, then councils will need to make a decision on dominant use of the land.
