Hi Andrew
Thank you for the speedy response. Do you generate a rate notice for this charge on parent strata assessment? I’m assuming that you do, and it only shows waste charges and no rates.
October 17, 2024 at 9:50 am in reply to: Cancellation of Valuations for Defence Housing Owned Properties #24142Hi Andrew
The Valuer General has now issued a response advising that the values will be removed from the Register of Land Values from 1/7/2024 however the cancellations have come through a current supplementary issue cancelling values with base date 1/7/2022. This does not seem to be consistent.
Also, in our case they have cancelled values for Crown owned properties that are leased for private purposes. These properties should be rateable. Is there something I may not be aware of?

Hi Andrea
We currently charge a direct debit dishonour fee of $26.00. We are increasing this each year towards $30. This direct debit rejection fee is based on our estimate of the fee charged to Council by the bank plus our administration costs, which includes our staff having to contact the ratepayer due to non-receipt of the rate instalment and reprocessing of the direct debit to ensure the instalments is receipted correctly. This fee is a direct cost and Council does not profit from it. Thanks
Hi Andrea
We don’t charge a fee currently for either.
We are considering charging a fee for refunds as we are struggling to keep up with these.
We would not charge a fee to cancel 603 certificates. Most of our 603 certificates are issued immediately it is not possible to cancel them. There are very few certificates that are manually issued and these are still issued the same day.
Hope that helps. Thanks.
Thanks Michael.
Thanks Tracey. Much appreciated.

Hi Andrea
We only accept changes of address in writing either via email, fax, letter or online COA form. We previously took the COA over the phone but found that we had alot of issues when we went legal for recovery of rates and charges. We had very little issue/ complaint from our ratepayers when we made the change to requests must be in writing. We include a note on our rate notices that changes of address must be in writing. Thanks. DajanaHas there been any update on when the new online form will be made available?
On Centrelink website ratepayers will regain entitlement to a Pensioner Concession Card on 9 October 2017. It is still unclear whether the date of grant and entitlement will be backdated. Has there been any update on this?
