Junee has a few outstanding issues with the VG’s but our totals balance.
We have sales that requires splits unprocessed. Also several amalgamation requests unanswered. Request for valuations unanswered.
I have emailed them but also have not had a reply as yet.
I submitted a request back in November via the link and received no reply as yet.
The request is still pending along with lots of splits, amalgamations and other issues.
January 14, 2026 at 12:24 pm in reply to: Refunding old owner due to incorrect payments to their old account. #25617Hi Brigitte,
Here at Junee we have had a couple of similar cases.
The first was exactly as yours above, except the previous owner had purchased a new house in town and never bothered to change any of their net banking details for rates, water, electricity and gas. So after two years Council commenced legal action on their new property and they came in and paid the debt at the front counter, but not saying anything and continuing to Bpay their former property . Fast forward 18 months and the same again but this time they asked to speak to me after receiving the demand letter. I notified the current owner and he was aware he wasn’t paying the correct amounts. We refunded the previous owner (actually transferred the payments to their new property) and notified the current owner of his updated liability.
The other was much more complicated, also person was paying via BPay. They subdivided the one lot property into 3 lots, which were then rated individually. The 3 assessments were all sold quickly (2 of them changed hands twice), with payments still coming in from the original owner to the original assessment. Finally Council was advised the payments should never have been paid. Due to the multiple sales and subdivisions and 603 issued Council agreed to to refund the payments around $3k.
We barely go a month now without having to deal with some issue caused by owners Bpaying wrong amounts to wrong accounts.
Junee Shires issue as mentioned above was rectified within a few hours by the VG.
Junee Shire received our 2025 Values in October.
Followed by a small Supp List in November, our first since the new Vals.
Total LV movement on the new Supp List was +$353K yet our total LV increased by almost $8mil.
I have emailed the VG’s hopefully this is rectified fast than the last time we had a discrepancy.
Hi Sue
I had the same issue caused by Goldenfields Water properties rated as Business.
They didnt require me to change anything, just accepted my explanation.

PeterThanks for the replies.
Some years ago Junee Shire Council removed all credit card charges.
At the time I am sure all non-statutory fees were increases by an extra 1% or similar, effectively incorporating the bank fee into the Councils standard fees & charges.
Junee Shire today received Notices of Sale for 5 residential properties previously owned by NSW Land & Housing.
Several other properties across the state were included on the NOS.
I presume Sec 560(4) means these properties will remain rateable.
Thank you Ian

I received some comments suggesting the GM’s letter was no longer required.
An email to Revenue NSW was just received with the following reply.
Thank you for your email. The letter from the General Manager is still required.

I manually added the rate assessment number to the relevant PID from the VG’s file for my strata’s.
Hope this helps.
