Hi Andrea
we charge $25.00 dishonour fee and it is listed under our fees and charges, We make contact via phone where a contact number is available with the customer for replacement funds and inform them of the $25.00 dishonour fee, followed by a letter, if they dishonour 3 times we stop the direct debit and inform them to make payment via other payment options available to them.

Fairfield City Council write off as at 30 June only – $3.00Hi Tracey
Fairfield collects date of birth information over the phone at the time of verbal inquiry without any pressure to the ratepayer, the flow of the phone conversation is confirming assessment numbers, property address and date of birth, before responding to their request. I have also included in the Change of Name and Address Detail request application. This information has assisted cleaning, and reducing Duplications in the NAR Module, a very successful process no complaints.Fairfield does request DOB’S and phone numbers when confirming information over the phone and it is included in the Change of Name and Address application. This is good for all record keeping for the organization and it is extremely helpful in the NAR/Debt Recovery process – clearing of duplications/chasing up overdue Rates and Charges.
Fairfield is applying the full 2.6%.
FCC Council are looking at ways of reducing the interest/or reducing the rates and charges for the remaining outstanding Instalment due to COVID-19, can anyone direct me to the section of the act where it states this can not be done to support my answer.
They are also looking at reducing the revenue intake for next financial year, under LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1993 – SECT 509 Maximum general income I think covers this part where council can still make changes prior to adoption, keep in mind I have already forecasted the rates for 2020-2021 with rate peg at 2.6%, can I still change this if we do not wish to take up the 2.6% what section of the act covers this decision if we go to this pathway.
you support is greatly appreciated.

SuzyHi Dajana
Fairfield Council does not permit a Real Estate Agents to Cancel a Direct debit on behalf of the owner, Council will only action it upon owner’s request in writing.Regards
SuzyHi Andrea
We only accept change of Address in writing, we accept online application request where ratepayers completes and submits on council’s website, Email ,Post, and Fax but we never accept verbal request. we verify that the request comes from the owner and if requested by agent, provided that they confirm details of property including assessment number and owners name.Hi Jason

SuzyOctober 13, 2017 at 12:46 pm in reply to: Dates to process for Pensioner concession subsidy claims #20103Thank you all for your replies.
To process this task more than once a year (13,000 Pensioner accounts, and approx. 3,000 rejected each time) will generate a lot of repeated work as Centrelink file does not always match the order of ownership as per land titles and plus other small discrepancy issues.
Yes, David I have been Audited by the Audit office and they want everything to mirror, reports to run at same time, same day, so if you are out by $1.00 or one number they want to fully investigate and have it justified , and when you do, they will still report it. It is a no win situation.
They ask for the possibility to do but not necessary can be done.
thanks again. -
