Hi
We have uploaded the patch and the G-val into our test environment and all appears to be fine. It all balances and we intended to load both files into Live soon.
Hi,
We only send payments back via Bpay following a request from either the ratepayer or Bpay itself. It must be the full amount that was paid via Bpay. All other refunds are done via EFT.
Camden Council uses the Commonwealth Bank and they supplied the set up for returning monies via Bpay.
You should check with your bank as to the setup they require.Hi
Camden Council does not charge a fee for refunding overpaid rates.
Hi Tracey,
We return the money to the bank account it came from using the Bpay facilities.
Its quick and the money is returned from where it came from.
As Bpay has no name reference this is the most secure way of returning moniesCheers

Hi Jeanette,
Camden charges Business rates to all Golf Courses in the LGA and does not give any discounts.
Camden will be displaying 2 lines to cut down on the number of questions regarding calculations
Hi Linda
We have a CWA Hall in Camden and its rated as a Business.
Council gives them a donation each year based on the difference between Business Rates and Residential Rates.
A State MP once told me that you can upset everybody except the CWA ladies.Cheers
Another question
Approved education and care service are defined as Public Benefit Land – Page 42
The meaning of this education service is contained within the ( Children(Education and Care Services)National Law (NSW)).“This gives the following example “Education and care services to which this Law applies include long day services, family day care services, outside school hours services and preschool programs including those delivered in schools, unless expressly excluded.”
My question is family day care services are usually carried out in a private home so does the home become “Public Benefit Land” and do we classify this as the dominant use?
I have just received some answers from Treasury to questions I asked regarding the ESPL –
(A) The manual talks about Bulk fuel storage e.g. a fuel depot or oil terminal but does not specify a service station or garage. Are petrol stations to be classified commercial or Industrial?
ANSWER from Treasury-Petrol stations should be classified as commercial
(B) Is a petrol station that sells only petrol with a small shop to be classified the same as a garage with mechanics and vehicle repair workshops?
ANSWER from Treasury- This would also be classified as commercial, and we anticipate the regulations to reflect this.
The ESPL category for a Retirement Village?
ANSWER from Treasury – Retirement villages (whether operated by a commercial entity or PBI/church/charity) should be classified as Residential for the purposes of ESPL. We anticipate this to be discussed in the regulations.
Hi Adele
Sorry I’m not much help because we have a minimum area of 100ha for forestry however if they have a private forest approval from the State Government and you feel that 4ha is enough area to allow a business then they might pass the test for farmland. The 12 years before harvesting can occur shouldn’t be an issue as there are several legal cases that allow this to happen.
Cheers

Hi Laura,
Camden Council does not allow farmland rating for horse studs, horse training facilities and properties that allow spelling or agistment of horses.
Council’s Farmland Rating Policy is very specific about not allowing farmland rating for horses.
The Camden LGA has a large number of horse studs and with the upgrade of the Menangle Park trotting track a number of trainers have moved to the area and built training facilities. Any farmland rating applications from these new ratepayers has been declined.
Council was taken to court in relation to the a horse stud and farmland rating some years ago (Clinton v Camden Council) and Council was successful.I believe that most Councils allow Farmland Rating for horses but its a decision for each to decide.
