Our last three lists have not balanced either and it is due to the conversion from ValNet to VALII. For us we have been advise that there is an issue with property cancellations and the value not being removed from the list total. Tracy from Value NSW has asked that all issues be raised through their portal so that it can be worked on accordingly. However, it has been Tracy who has been responding directly to us. Definitely something I know we will all be asking about next week at conference.
Hi Fernanda,
Yes, we were in the same boat. Our July list had been corrected in August and all was going well until our 8th November list. Now it is out over $11,000. We have also reported it through the portal to Value NSW.
At our last State Executive meeting, Value NSW advised that they were working with councils as issues were submitted. For those that have received their GVal this month, all their properties are correct.
Hi Anthony,
As former Bankstown Council we used to use this process quite a bit, with varying levels of success. We have not done them for a long time though, on the recommendation of our agents, due to privacy concerns.
I would also be interested in any council who does include it as part of their debt recovery process. Given we are supposed to attempt everything possible before taking legal action which incurs costs.

CBCityFebruary 24, 2025 at 5:09 pm in reply to: Retain Pensioner Application Forms not stored Electronically #25173Hi Lyndal,
We went through a very similar thing a number of years ago and worked with our Records team to digitise previous year paper forms. Yes it was time consuming and labour intensive, but we worked on a year at a time and got them all done. The only difference we have compared to yourselves, is that form is stored against the property. Now we have only online forms that are submitted through our website, registered against the property through automations and sent to my team directly. Records do not have to deal with them at all.
Hi Cherie,
We don’t have an archival search fee, but we do have an ‘information of rates & charges’ written advice fee. It is $60.25 for each year they request. We can only go back as far as 1997 due to the fire for any Bankstown records and 2017 for any Canterbury records. We don’t get very many of these once we let them know the charge. The only time there is no charge is if the reconciliation is required for court with our debt recovery agents.
Our rate notice reproduction fee is $29.60 for each year. And even those have quietened down, they are registering to our archive platform.
Hope this helps
AndreaHi Cherie,
I know I’m a bit late to the party on this one but CBCity charges 0.62% for Visa, Mastercard and AMEX.

Hi David,
I got an email Friday afternoon stating they hadn’t received the CEO letter. But I submitted it the same time as the file, and I’ve received the file back stating there were errors. I’m going to email them this morning and if I get any info worth providing, I’ll update you.
AndreaThanks Andrew, we got one as well. My manager and I will be attending.
Hi Dave,
Ha, I’m sure we’re not the only ones that are having no lives for the next few weeks 🙁
My template also has those columns (O and R). What I’m looking for is clarification on the ‘Notes’ columns that are in the examples of the document.
Where are you adding the notes for MDAF and Specified Use?

October 16, 2024 at 11:30 am in reply to: Cancellation of Valuations for Defence Housing Owned Properties #24136Hi Dajana, yes we’ve just received 14 cancellations in our latest list (11th October). I haven’t asked the VG yet, but I will do now that I know there is an issue and both of you have emailed them.
Hi Dave,
We have agents who manage hundreds and hundreds of properties within the LGA and they all pay using the payment options available to them, mostly BPay. We haven’t had agents request anything like this. And if they did, our response would be that paying directly in to Council’s bank account is not a payment option, use what is on the rates notice.

Hi Cherie,
At CBCity we accept notification to change the mailing address from the owner as well as the agent.
We accept directly from the agent, with or without the tenancy agreement, at the moment. I have recently strengthened our change of address form to include tenancy agreement as a mandatory document when being submitted by an agent. And have also created the ability for them to advise if they no longer manage the property on the same Change of Address form. Now it’s just a matter of our NAR team pushing back on emails they receive and changing the “submit by email” behaviour of owners and agents. The form is available on our website if you want to have a look at it or give me a call and I can email you a sample of the output that our NAR team receives.Andrea
Hi Glynes,
We have just started this year charging for all notices, current and past. It previously was only for anything older than 12 months. Our charge is $29.60.
The same as Blacktown and Ryde, we also encourage our landowners to register for eRates through Zipform. We are currently on a rolling release of back archive, but all the 2023/2024 notices are available.
On a side note, we’ve started charging for refund requests because they were increasing.

Hi Andrew,
Is there any update on when we will be receiving the corrected workpapers?
Our had a formatting issue on the Fin Statement Report page. Fields weren’t to the $’000
AndreaHi Carmel,
Any monies we receive for Rates that cannot be receipted are pushed back to where they came from. Obviously, this cannot be done with Australia Post payments, but we do it with Bpay and Bpoint ones. This has reduced our unclaimed monies significantly.
In my time though, I have not heard of it being an issue transferring to Revenue NSW without any details, because more times out of not, there are no details, except what comes on the payment file. Maybe this is a new thing.
Not sure if this helps, but I hope it does.
